LIME RICE MINUS RICE( WITH DALIYA) – KIDS LUNCH BOX- INSTANT POT

One pot Vegetable Daliya( cracked wheat) without Spice powders and Whole Garam Masala  – Kids Lunch Box – Instant Pot – Tasty One pot meal 

Do you like Lime rice and want to try with a different grain. I tried in Instant pot and Packed for Kids Lunch Box. Easy to prepare in the morning with Zero monitoring and without stirring. It will taste good warm or at room temperature. Pack with Plain curd. Here is the simple recipe with every day ingredients from your pantry . Don’t forget to add tadka ingredients for taste and crunch . I added Green chillies which are zero spicy . Pick light green chillies . So kids can enjoy. Add Lime juice after you can take inner pot out. Cool for few minutes and add Lime juice.

Whole Green chillies -6 ( Light green are zero spicy ) Fried green chillies taste good with Lime rice. You can take from tadka . Keep aside and add at the end. If you don’t want to cook in water. Either way they will taste good.

PACK FOR KIDS LUNCH BOX WITH PLAIN CURD and Fruit . SNACK TIME : Ladoo and Pop chips  ;

Recipe for 3 to 4  : 

INGREDIENTS :

1. Cracked wheat ( Daliya) – 1 cup

2. Water – 2  cups

3. .Whole Green chillies -4 ( Light green are zero spicy ) Fried green chillies taste good, Chopped ginger – small piece 

(Vegetables – Frozen green peas – 1/2 cup , Chopped carrots – 1/2 cup and Chopped Green Beans – 1/2 cup)  

4. Roasted peanuts –  One or 2 handfuls and Cashews 

5. Tadka – Split  green moong dal  or Urad dal  – 2 tbsp  , Cumin seeds – 1/2 tbsp ,Mustard seeds – 1/2 tbsp , Broken red chillies – 4

5. Curry leaves – 10 ( finely chopped ) and finely chopped coriander to add at the end . 

6. Turmeric – 1/4 th tbsp

7. Oil – 4 tbsp 

8. Juice of Lime – One 

METHOD : 

1. Turn IP on saute mode . When warm add Oil followed by Roasted peanuts, Cashews , Split green moong dal ( 2  tbsp or more) or Urad dal   , Cumin seeds, Mustard seeds , Red chillies , Curry leaves and Turmeric. Mix well . 

Add Green chillies and Chopped ginger fry for a minute .

2. Add chopped carrots, Green Beans and Frozen green peas . Curry leaves . Cancel Saute . 

3. Wash Cracked wheat ( Daliya) and add 2  cups water. Add salt . Taste water for salt .

4. Add Daliya with water to inner Pot. Mix well.

5. Close lid . Manual 7 minutes  . Unplug when silver button pops up .NPR ( 7 to 10 Mnutes) .

6. Open lid. Wait for few minutes . Fluff it up  and squeeze juice of One  Lime juice and Chopped Coriander . Taste for salt and add accordingly .

SERVE for BREAKFAST or PACK for KIDS LUNCH BOX with Plain curd  and for Dinner too .

STOVE TOP :

1. Heat a wide pan on medium high heat .When warm add Oil followed by Channa Dal , Roasted peanuts, Cashews , Split Black urad dal , Cumin seeds, Mustard seeds , Red chillies , Curry leaves and Turmeric. Mix well . 

Add Green chillies and fry for a minute .

2. Wash Cracked wheat ( Daliya) and add 3  cups water. Add salt . Taste water for salt .

3. Add Daliya( cracked wheat)  with water . Mix well.

4. Close lid . Stir in between .Once the water evaporates . Open lid and cook for few minutes till dry . If needed add Oil . Switch off the stove . 

5. Cool sometime and add Lime juice . SERVE for BREAKFAST or PACK for KIDS LUNCH BOX with Plain curd .
