RAISIN JAGGERY LADOO – AFTER SCHOOL SNACK/DESSERT- 5 main Ingredients. No cooking Ladoo.

 One Ladoo will keep kids full till Dinner time if they go to After School activities. Simple and Healthy Ladoo( Dessert) you can prepare with  few ingredients ,less time and they stay good for more than 2 weeks if stored in an air tight container. You all must be knowing the amazing  health benefits of raisins and jaggery especially for girls . No need to cook if you buy store bought roasted nuts . I added sesame seeds too. Just microwave for a minute or 2  . Recipe is for 5 big Ladoo’s or medium 10 Ladoo’s . They stay good for more than 2 weeks if stored in air tight container. Here is the Simple recipe with everyday ingredients from your Pantry . 

Ghee is a staple in  preparing Indian  Desserts , cooking  and Ayurvedic medicine. Ghee made from grass fed butter is healthy and had essential Vitamins like A, D , E and K and as well as fatty acids.   According to some  Research Ghee actually reduce the risk of heart disease instead of increasing. Too much eating will increase Cholesterol levels . People with diabetes, heart disease and suffering from obesity should avoid or reduce the intake.  If you are dealing with any sort of digestive issues , Ghee will help in healing Gut lining.  it improves digestion . The short chain fatty acid butyrate helps support a healthy digestive tract , increases gastric acid and helps in efficient digestion .  Beneficial for mind , controls metabolism , inflammation and stress. Butyrate  works by stimulating the conversion of fiber into more butyric acid which is essential for detoxifying as well as elimination of other fats and toxins.

Jaggery which is a good substitute for Sugar and has its own unique Health Benefits.              Other ingredient I used is Sesame seeds which is one of the Oldest spices to man dating back to 3000 B.C . Low in GI and valuable source of dietary protein that are essential for growing Children. Cardamom is a Vanilla Bean for Indian desserts. Adds flavor and nice aroma for desserts. It is used as a Breath freshner and tooth cleaner . Sesame seeds are nutty in taste and comes in different colors . Good source of Calcium and has the ability to prevent diabetes and managing the symptoms  , increase heart health and inflammation . Good source of copper which helps in reducing some of the pain and swelling of rheumatoid arthritis. Eat in moderation , excessive consumption can cause irritation in stomach .  

                                         Peanuts are called the Brain food as they contain Vitamin B3 or niacin which improves Brain function and Boosts Memory. They possess the nutrition qualities of the both Legumes and nuts and hence offer several benefits for Skin , Hair and Health . The flavor of toasted  nuts improves their texture  , sweetness from Jaggery and raisins , intensely aromatic flavor from Cardamom and rich and nutty flavor from sesame seeds makes one tasty treat for Kids and Family.

Raisins are good source of carbohydrates for energy .Fiber in raisins protect against colon cancer , lowers cholesterol , helps protects against cardio vascular disease . Eat raisins in moderation to avoid excess calories. When grapes are dehydrated to produce raisins the nutrients been more concentrated . Deep red color raisins contain no additives or preservatives . Golden raisins which are oven dried are treated with the preservative sulphurdioxide  which is safe for most  people but could cause an allergy type reaction in some asthamatic individuals . These are used to preserve Vitamin A and C in golden raisins   during the drying process. Raisins contain fructans a prebiotic which promote health in colon . These fructans help the body better absorb calcium and magnesium . Certain compounds in Raisins could fight oral bacteria that results in cavities and gum disease . RECIPE for 5 Big Ladoo’s or 10 Medium Ladoo’s . RECIPE looks SIMPLE .  Easy to prepare ,tastes good and has amazing Health Benefits. 

INGREDIENTS : One cup – Measuring cup 

1. Roasted peanuts – 1 cup , Roasted sesame seeds – 1/2 cup ( roast in microwave ) 

2. Dry coconut – 1/4 th cup and Chopped Cahews – 1/4 th cup 

3. Cardamom – 8 tp 10 ( Powdered ) Supress the peanut smell

4. Ghee – 1 tbsp

5. Raisins – 1/2 cup and Powdered Jaggery – 1/2 cup 

METHOD :

1. First grind dry coconut with roasted sesame seeds . Then add roasted peanuts.

2. Then add Cardamom , Raisins and Jaggery . Blend . Transfer to a Bowl .

3. To this add chopped cashews and ghee. Mix well . Taste for sweetness and add accordingly .

4. Take a big handful and bind ladoo’s . Repeat with the rest of the mixture.

5. Store in a air tight container.
